Event Guidelines
Eligibility
Entrants must have amateur status and a current USGA handicap at a club or association belonging to the VSGA (see Tier II and III clubs at www.vsga.org). For the Northern Virginia Amateur, entrants must have a handicap index of 8.0 or less. For the Northern Virginia Four-Ball, teams must have a combined handicap index of 16.0 or less. There are no residence requirements for Regular events only.
Measuring Devices
The use of distance measuring devices, including GPS-based systems and laser rangefinders is allowed. This applies to devices that measure distance only, not any other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. wind or gradient). If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.
Dress Code
Participants must adhere to the host club dress code.
Additional guidelines may be designated on the entry form(s). For any discrepancies between the guidelines listed there and those designated on the entry form, the entry form shall take precedence.
