Champion Bob Digby with Mark Boedicker, NVGA

The 2019 NVGA Senior Amateur concluded today at Winchester CC

A perfectly timed birthday and a putting tip was the recipe for success.

Bob Digby turned 55 on June 17th (the start date of the tournament) and made the most of his first NVGA Senior Amateur.

While on the practice putting green Digby had Harry Thomas walk by and mention that he should change his ball placement in his stance.  He made the adjustment and started rolling them in.  Once on the course, nothing changed.  With birdies on 6 (5’), 7 (20’), and 8 (15’) he made the turn in 33.  Standing on 14 tee, he was 4 under but with bogey on 14 and a double on 15 he ended up with a 1 under par 71 to finish at 147 and a 1 shot win.  Mark Rallas finished 2nd alone at 148 and Paul Gural, Steve Galing, Marc Hogan and Darrell Carlisle finished T3 at 149.

Super Senior Division

Peter Jacobi shot 71-71- 142 to win by 5!  Peter is back in action after some health setbacks in the last year and playing some great golf. Jeff Johns was second at 147, Doug Wade and Ron Corneilson were T3 at 153.

Senior Net

Doug Anderson won the net division at 144 and Richard Markle finished 2nd at 149.

The NVGA would like to thank Winchester CC for hosting this years event. The course was in great condition and the event ran smoothly.  Andy Hersey and his staff did a fantastic job.  Thank you again and we look forward to a return visit.
