Please find and review the following information regarding the Northern Virginia Senior 4-ball tournament on Monday, 22 June at the RTJ Club in Gainesville, VA.

Tee times / pairings available here: Tee Time/Pairings  To minimize the number of people gathering at the course, please do not arrive more than 1-hour before your scheduled tee time.  Do not loiter after completing your round; you should depart soon after scoring has been completed.

To minimize any exposure and/or possible spread of the virus, we will not be providing paper copies of this material at the course.  The only paper document that will be provided is a scorecard to be used only by the marker for the side.  If you need a paper copy of this material, please print it and bring it yourself.

Please note the following:

Notice to competitors.

    • COVID-19 Special Rules:
      • Do not touch or remove the flagstick.  A player’s right to remove the flagstick making a stroke is suspended for this event.  All players must leave the flagstick in the hole for all shots – including putts.  (General Penalty)
      • Sand bunkers will be maintained by the forecaddies — no special rules are in effect.
      • The holes have foam pieces added which raise the bottom of the hole to a couple of inches below the surface.  The ball is considered holed only if it remains within the hole (a ball that bounces out after hitting the foam insert is not considered holed).
    • Official scoring procedure:
      • Scorecards will not be traded between sides for signatures (covid-19 precaution).  The marker for a side will verbally announce the hole-by-hole scores for that side, which will be recorded by the official scorer.
      • The official scorer will repeat the hole-by-hole scores, as well as the 9 and 18-hole totals, which will then be verbally certified by the side and marker.

COVID-19 Safety Measures.

  • Each side will be provided one cart. The two players on the side must decide who rides and who walks (both golf bags may be transported). Alternatively, both players may walk and the team forecaddie will operate the cart.  The same person should operate the cart throughout the round.
  • To limit the total number of individuals on-site at an event, no spectators will be allowed.
  • If a player is experiencing any of the following COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of the event start date, he is asked to withdraw from that event: coughing or shortness of breath, or two of the following: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. A full refund will be issued.
  • Provide your own drinks and snacks.
  • There will not be a formal ceremony to announce winners or those that have won prizes.
  • If there is a tie for any prize, the USGA’s recommended scorecard play-off procedure will be used: last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes, then final hole. If this process does not result in a winner, the winner will be determined by tossing a coin.
  • All winners will be announced by email and results will be posted to the NVGA’s website.
  • Redemption of gift certificates will be handled on a course-by-course basis, but players should be prepared to redeem by phone or at a later date in order to maintain safety precautions.
  • Maintain appropriate social-distance at all times — in the practice area, on the putting green, on the golf course and around the carts.

Reminders:  Please bring $40 cash per person for your forecaddie tips and $20 per person for the optional team skins game.

If your team needs to withdraw for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible so we can notify a team on the waiting list:

We look forward to seeing you at this event and we thank you for your participation.
