2018 Senior Stroke Play Championship Results

The Senior division ended in a tie at 148 with Dan Hill and Paul Gural. The playoff was to start on #1 but unfortunately, Paul had left the premises.

Mt. Vernon CC member Dan Hill’s 73-75-148 was mostly fairways and greens. Dan’s short game and putting were keys to his good play. “I kept it out of the rough for the most part and felt good on the greens”. Dan started 1 shot off the lead and played steadily throughout the day. His key to the round came on the par 5 6th where he reached the green in two and two putted from 30 feet for his only birdie.

Congratulations to Dan and Paul for their great play.

Super Senior Division

Dominion Valley CC member Jeff Johns started day 2 with a 4 shot deficit tied for 3rd. After a bogie free 1 under front nine, Jeff made up ground on the front runners. He followed that up on the back with pars and just two bogies to shoot 73. Jeff’s keys to the round were that he drove the ball in the fairway, which allowed him to hit a lot of greens. “I hit it close enough all day to 2 putt without a lot of stress” he said.
