Thanks to everyone who played in today’s 2025 NVGA Combined Amateur – Senior Amateur 4-ball tournament at Army Navy CC (Fairfax Course). It was nearly a perfect day for golf — great weather, a beautiful and well-conditioned course, and an excellent field of 52 teams!
Congratulations to the following division winners:
Amateur Division (age 49 and under) — Charlie Niland and Mike Johnston (a Super-Senior age 65+) from Evergreen CC who won on the 3rd hole of a sudden-death playoff with Keith Snyder (Twin Lakes GC) and Henry Reardon (Laurel Hill GC). Mike’s up-and-down par save from about 3 feet short of the green on Red #3 sealed the win. Charlie powered the team to 5-under par 67 with his exceptional play on the back nine (Red nine) with 3 birdies and an eagle!
Senior Division (age 50+) —- Carlos Aranda (Springfield CC) and Somsak Chivavibul (River Bend Club) won the Senior division by 2 strokes with a 4-under par 68.
Super-Senior Division (age 65+) — Keith Morgan (Evergreen CC) had 8 birdies and a 66 on his own ball assisted by Steve Galing (Army Navy CC) for a 5-shot win with their 8-under par 64.
Legend Division (age 70+) — At least 7-time division co-champion Dave LeClere and his partner Charlie Nardiello (International CC) won their division by 4 shots with a 5-under par 67; Dave and Charlie have won this division 2 years in a row.

Note: An error was discovered for one team in the Senior Division made by the pro shop staff that was entering / editing the scores in GolfGenius. It affected the teams in 10th place to 13th place. Not all gift certificates had been picked up on Wednesday so we were able to correct the error and mail the gift certificates to the proper teams.
We would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Army Navy CC (Fairfax Course) for hosting this wonderful event, especially Tyler Tucker, PGA Head Golf Professional, Joey Gilman, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Fairfax, and Joe Betcher, Golf Course Superintendent (FFX). We heard many compliments on the great course conditions and what a good test of golf the course presented.
