Sunday June 14, 2026: Evergreen CC (ECC) won the 2026 NVGA Senior Team Championship over Belle Haven CC (BHCC) with a final score of 7 to 5. ECC swept all 6 points in the two matches at home while their away team playing at BHCC won a crucial 1 point in the first group by winning the front nine that sealed the victory.
The competition began with 4 divisions of 4 teams each; each team would play the other three teams in their division in the play-in rounds. The four division winners advanced to the quarterfinals (round-of-8) plus four wild-card teams. Evergreen CC won its division with a record of 3-0 and was automatically included in the quarterfinals. Although it did not win its division, Belle Haven CC finished with a record of 2-1 in their division and gained the #6 seed in the playoffs by having won 22.5 points in its two matches with an average of 7.5 points per match.
ECC advanced to the finals match by defeating #7 seed Piedmont Club in the quarterfinals and defeating #4 seed Washington Golf & CC in the semi-finals. BHCC, the #6 seed, advanced to the finals match by defeating #3 seed Blue Ridge Shadows GC in the quarterfinals and #1 seed International CC in the semi-finals.
Congratulations to Evergreen CC’s Senior Team on winning the 2026 NVGA Senior Team Championship. Evergreen CC had previously won the WMGA Senior Team championships in 2010 and 2013. Well done to the Belle Haven CC Senior team for making the playoffs, and defeating both the #1 and #3 seeded teams on the way to a runner-up finish!
