Fellow golfers,
We have a full field, at capacity, registered for the 2026 NVGA Combined Amateur / Senior Amateur championship at Washington Golf & Country Club on 21-22 September.
The list of players who are confirmed in the field as of 5 September, sorted alphabetically by division is available at the following link: 2026 NVGA Combined Am – Senior Am Player list as of 5 September
Please review the list to confirm we have you in the correct division. We have a substantial waiting list; if your schedule changes and you will not be able to play in the tournament, notify us as soon as possible so we can fill the spot in the field.
Practice rounds for the tournament are available for a fee of $50 including a cart. Practice round tee times will be available between 3:00 and 3:24 pm on Sept 2, 3, 10, 15 and 16. Call the pro shop (at 703-522-7091) five days ahead of time to get your tee time. Do not just show up and ask to play a practice round. When you call, please make sure you indicate it is for a practice round for the event. For out-of-town players only, the club will do their best to accommodate a practice round on Saturday or Sunday 19-20 September if there any open spots available with member play. Call the pro shop one to two days ahead of time and they will try to find an available tee time.
Please carefully read the guest welcome letter which includes a map of the club, dress code and cell phone policy at the following link: Guest Welcome Letter – NOVA Am
WG&CC’s practice range is located a long distance from the pro shop and clubhouse. During the tournament, you should drive your car to the practice area at the end of Rock Spring Road where there is plenty of parking, complete your warmup and then drive up to the clubhouse area about 20 minutes before your tee time. Parking is available in both sides of Glebe Rd in parking lots #1 and #2 (see map in the attached letter). Do not plan to walk or take a cart from the pro shop area to/from the practice range before play.
For pace of play, we will be playing in groups of 3 players. Tee times on Monday will begin at 9:00 am and extend to about 2:30 pm. Tee times on Tuesday will begin at 8:00 am and extend to about 1:30 pm. The tentative order of division tee times is Legends, Super-Seniors, Seniors, and then Amateurs.
In the event of ties for the winner in each division, there will be a sudden-death playoff. All other ties for gift certificates in the pro shop will be a scorecard playoff using the USGA recommended method (last 9, last 6, last 3, last hole). The prize pool will total to $5400 and pay out over 33-40% of the field.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the tournament!
Your NVGA volunteers,
Mark Vandegrift, Jon Zampedro, Lynn Wessman, Mark Rallas and Richard Lion
