The WGCC Local rules sheet is at the following link: Local Rules Sheet (No Alt to Stroke and Distance)
There is a local rule for playing a provisional ball for ball in penalty area – please review it carefully.
Amateurs will play from the Black tees; Seniors from the Blue tees (which will be co-located with the Black tees on most holes except #11 and #15); Super-Seniors from the White tees; and Legends from the Red tees. The planned yardages are at the following link: 2026 NVGA Combined Am – Senior Am Tee Selections
As a reminder – players should drive by car to the range, complete your warmup, then drive back to the clubhouse area about 20 minutes before your tee time. WGCC has a strict policy regarding golf balls being hit over the back netting of the range. There are two levels to hit practice balls:
-
- No golf shots over 215 yards may be hit on the upper level
- No golf shots over 240 yards may be hit on the lower level
All players are expected to use the carts provided. WGCC does not allow outside/personal push carts. If you elect to walk you must not slow down the pace of play.
There is limited parking near the pro shop along Rock Spring Rd, in front of the clubhouse, and across the street on the West side of Glebe Rd. See the Welcome letter for a map and other information about the club dress code and mobile phone policy at the following link: Guest Welcome Letter – NOVA Am
If you decide not to play on Tuesday, inform the pro shop before you leave the premises so we can make up accurate tee times for day 2 based on scores. The order of play for Tuesday by division will be Legends, Super-Seniors, Seniors then Amateurs.
Food and beverages: The club will provide water. All food and beverages are at your own expense either at The Turn facility (by the range, and #4 and #10 tees) or in the clubhouse. You have 3 options for food and beverages:
- You may bring your own lunch or snacks.
- You may purchase food and beverages at The Turn or in the clubhouse and charge back to your home club account.
- If you do not belong to a club on the WG&CC reciprocal list, you can charge food and beverages to a special NVGA account set up for the tournament and then pay for the items in cash to the NVGA rep at the scorer’s table. Please bring smaller bills ($1, $5, $10 or $20) if you plan to pay for your food/beverage items in cash. Please ask club personnel how much your items cost so you can pay the amount owed to the NVGA representative.
We will send day 2 tee times by email and post them here on the NVGA website.
We are keeping an eye on the weather and may use stipulated rounds in the event weather prevents completion of play.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the tournament!
Your NVGA volunteers,
Mark Vandegrift, Jon Zampedro, Lynn Wessman, Mark Rallas and Richard
