We had a gorgeous fall weather day for the 2nd round of the 2026 Combined Amateur – Senior Amateur Championships at Washington Golf & CC. The course was firm and the greens were fast which made it very challenging. Scores reflected the difficulty of the course.

On a sad note, one of our players in the Legend Division and scheduled play today, Ray D’Amore (1757 Club), passed away unexpectedly yesterday. He was a real gentleman and a pleasure with whom to play. We send our sincere condolences to his friends and family.
We are so very fortunate that Washington Golf & CC’s professional staff and Board approved a rain make-up date for the 2nd round of the of the tournament! Our NVGA volunteers and the tournament players wish to express our most sincere appreciation to the entire staff at WG&CC, especially Jay Dufty, PGA (Director of Golf) and Kevin Dean, PGA (Head Golf Professional). Well done!
Your NVGA Volunteers,
Mark Vandegrift, Jon Zampedro, Lynn Wessman, Mark Rallas and Richard Lion
