This year’s Northern Virginia Spring A-Team competition began with 27 clubs. In the Quarterfinals on Saturday 15 April, #8 seed Trump National defeated #1 seed Piedmont Club in a sudden-death playoff after they tied 9-9; #2 seed Army Navy defeated #7 seed Loudoun 10-8; #3 seed and defending Champion Evergreen CC defeated #6 seed River Creek 11.5-6.5; and #4 seed Springfield defeated #5 seed Winchester in another sudden-death playoff after tying the match 9-9.
In the semi-finals on Sunday 16 April #2 seed Army Navy defeated Trump National 14-4 and #4 seed Springfield squeaked by #3 seed and defending Champion Evergreen 8.5-7.5.
Army Navy and Springfield will meet to determine this year’s A-Team champion on Saturday 22 April. Good luck to both teams!
