Fellow golfers,

Entries for the inaugural NVGA match play tournament on 3-4 June at The Piedmont Club will open on Wednesday, 17 April about 5 pm.

Links to the online entry forms and payment ($140) will be live on the regular schedule and senior schedule pages.

We will also send an email announcing the opening of entries and make a news post on the website.

There will be separate registration pages for regular amateurs, seniors (age 55+) and super-seniors (age 65+) so we can close entries once those divisions fill up.  Seniors and super-seniors, please make sure you click on the link for your respective division.

This is a limited field event of a maximum of 64 players — 32 regular amateurs, 16 seniors, and 16 super-seniors.  Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and entries will close once the divisions are filled plus a small number of wait list for each division in case of cancellations.  Anyone that does not make it into the field will receive a full refund.  We will inform you if your entry makes it into the field or is on the wait list.

Please note that the format is 36 holes (two 18-hole matches) on Monday 3 June for everyone, and those winning both matches on Day 1 will return for elimination matches (semi-finals and finals) in each division on Day 2 (up to two 18-hole matches).

The tournament information sheet may be viewed here:  2024 Inaugural NVGA Match Play Championship info sheet

The clubhouse at The Piedmont Club is normally closed on Mondays but box lunches will be available for purchase at your own expense.

This is a new format for us and we don’t yet know how popular this event will be, but we expect the field to fill quickly due to the limited number of spaces in each bracket.  If you are interested in playing in this event, we recommend you make your entries soon after they open on next Wednesday afternoon.

We are looking forward to the event and hope to see you there.
