Northern Virginia Senior 4-ball champions, Steve Brown and Scott Gilchrist of the Piedmont Club – Haymarket shot a 7-under par 65 for a three-stroke victory.

Northern Virginia Senior 4-ball champions, Steve Brown and Scott Gilchrist of the Piedmont Club – Haymarket shot a 7-under par 65 for a three-stroke victory. Starting on the par 5 third hole they got off to a cool start only making birdie on the par 3 fourth before Scott’s putter heated up on #12. With birdies on 12, 15, 16, 17(Brown), 1 and 2 they capped off their bogey free round. The only drama was on #10 when they both hit their tee shots in the trees right almost onto 18 fairway but Gilchrist’s recovery shot through the trees found the green and a two putt par. “We got to #15 (their 12th hole at -2) and we figured we needed to birdie out to have a chance” They birdied 5 out of the last 6 to card the winning 7 under 65.

 

 

Net Competition

Kip Ritenour and Joe Gillette from Blue Ridge Shadows won 1st Net with a 9-under par 63. They shot a net 28 on the front capped off by a hole-in-one by Ritenour on the par 3 sixth. Congratulations!
