Fellow Golfers,

Thanks to everyone who replied to our previous email about changing the minimum age for our Senior competitions to 50 instead of 55.  The feedback we received was 10:1 in favor of making the change to age 50.

The NVGA Board has voted to change the eligibility requirements for our Senior events to age 50 commencing with all events in the 2025 season:  Senior A-Team, NVGA Match Play Championship, Senior Amateur Championship, Senior 4-ball, and Potomac Challenge team matches vs. the Freestate Seniors Golf Association of Maryland (will need to confirm with the MD team captains, but we expect them to agree since the FSSGAM already allows Seniors at age 50 in their events).

Because the Washington Metropolitan Golf Association has dissolved, the NVGA is organizing a smaller Senior A-Team competition for just the VA clubs.   We have 16 clubs signed up for the Senior A-Team competition which will occur in April.

Other events scheduled so far:

NVGA Match Play Championship – 2-3 June at The Piedmont Club

Northern VA Senior Amateur Championship – 7-8 July at Evergreen Country Club

We are still working on scheduling the Senior 4-ball and will let you know when we can confirm the venue and date.

We look forward to a fun 2025 season of excellent golf competition and thank you for your support of these events!
