The 2021 Northern Virginia Senior Amateur championship will be held this year at Belle Haven Country Club, Alexandria, VA on Monday and Tuesday, 28 & 29 June. Belle Haven is a Platinum Club of America and the golf course was renovated by the renowned course architect Arthur Hills.
The defending champions are Mike McLister (Loudoun Golf and Country Club) Senior/Championship Division and Peter Jacobi (Army Navy Country Club) Super-Senior Division.
This tournament is a VSGA tier S4 points event (Senior/Championship division only) with 30 points for the winner and points awarded for the top 10 finishers.
The format of the tournament is 36 holes of medal play (18 holes each day) in two divisions — Senior / Championship (age 55 and over) and Super-Senior (age 65 and over). Similar to the VSGA, MAGA and WMGA Senior Amateur tournaments, there is no cut after play on Day 1 and all players have the opportunity to play both days. Play will be organized by tee times beginning about 11:00 am on Monday, 28 June and about 8:30 am on Tuesday, 29 June.
The field will be limited to a total of 80 players (both divisions combined). The Senior / Championship division will play at about 6300-6500 yards and the Super-Seniors at about 6000-6200 yards. Play will be organized in foursomes with two carts per group – plan on sharing a cart with another golfer.
Entry Deadline is Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021. We anticipate this event will fill up quickly so we recommend submitting your entry as early as possible. Entries may close early once at least 80 players have registered. In the event of oversubscription, entry into the field will be determined by handicap indexes and GHIN scoring records. Any player who registers and does not make it into the field will receive a full refund of the entry fee.
The entry fee is $125 including golf, cart and range balls (no lunches are included). The club will have food and beverages available for purchase near the clubhouse on the outdoor patio.

The website registration is a two-step process: In step 1 complete the entry form and accept conditions, AND CLICK THE GREEN SEND BUTTON which sends us an email with your entry information. After you have clicked on the GREEN SEND button, proceed to Step 2 and click on the orange PAY ENTRY FEE button and complete your credit card payment. We will acknowledge receipt of your entries by email. Confirmation that you are in the field will take place later. Because of the limited field size, entry into the field will be determined by handicap indexes and GHIN scoring records. Anyone who doesn’t make it into the field will receive a full refund of their entry fee. Please make your entries as soon as possible and don’t wait to the last minute as we will close entries soon after we have received at least 80 entries.
Practice rounds for the tournament may be played on Monday through Thursday the weeks of 7 June, 14 June and 21 June for a cart fee of $25 plus tax. Call the pro shop at 703-329-5264 three days in advance of the day you wish to play the practice round to get your tee time. Do not just show up and ask to play a practice round. When you call, please make sure you indicate it is for a practice round for the event.
